Clarify: trust your decisions

Decide what your captured items mean.

Clarifying is the moment to decide what each captured item means to you.

GTDEasy walks you through David Allen's decision model with quick questions. The flow is designed to help you make the right decision without having to remember the methodology. If you already know GTD, you can use keyboard shortcuts and quick editing to organize your tasks even faster.

When you click or tap a task you will open its detail card. From here you can:

  • Change the title.
  • Add notes.
  • Assign a project.
  • Choose one or more contexts.

Then you will answer these questions:

Is it actionable?

If it requires no action, you can:

  • Save it as reference material.
  • Move it to Someday / Maybe.
  • Send it to Trash.

If it is actionable:

Who should do it?

If the action is yours, continue to the next question.

If someone else should do it, you can delegate it to a GTDEasy user or type the name of someone external.

Does it take less than 2 minutes?

If you can finish it in under 2 minutes, do it now.

A 2-minute timer will start to help you complete the task on the spot.

When will you do it?

If you are not doing it now, decide when you want it to appear in your lists. You can set:

  • Start date.
  • Due date (optional).
  • Priority.
  • Recurrence.

You can also re-clarify a task

Decisions can change. If a task is no longer relevant, changes owner or needs a new plan, you can run the clarify flow again from the task's detail card.
