Engage: choose your next action
How to decide what to do at any moment.
When it is time to work, you do not need to review all your tasks. GTDEasy helps you find the right next action based on your context, available time, energy level and priorities.
Work from Tasks
The Tasks view gathers all your active tasks, whether you created them or someone else assigned or delegated them to you. See Creator, owner and assignment.
From here you can focus on what you can do right now.
Choose your next action
To decide what to do, use these criteria:
- Context: show only the tasks you can do with the tools, in the place or in the situation you are in.
- Available time: find tasks that fit the time you have available.
- Energy level: pick tasks that match your ability to focus and effort at that moment.
- Priority: when several tasks are possible, focus on the most important or urgent ones.
To focus on what is already due, turn on “Due today”. It leaves out tasks with a due date later than today, and keeps overdue tasks and tasks with no due date visible.
GTD tip: you can create "low energy" and "high energy" contexts and combine them with your work contexts (Calls, Computer, Home, Errands...) to filter by both criteria.
Include inbox
Turn on "Include inbox" to also show tasks pending clarification alongside the rest of your tasks.
GTD tip: try to keep your Inbox empty. If an unclarified task shows up while you are working, it is usually better to process it first and decide later when to do it.
